The Tom Sachs x NikeCraft "General Purpose Shoe" caused quite a stir when the images first hit the net, with many sneakerheads comparing the new silhouette to his previous Nike collaboration: the Mars Yard 2.0. Whilst the Mars Yard holds grail status for most of the community, the General Purpose Shoe took a bit of warming up to, helped by a playful campaign that explained the context behind the deliberately average–looking sneaker. Even so, there was no doubt that the shoe would sell out as soon as it launched. If you were one of the unlucky sneaker fans that were left empty-handed after the initial drop, then read on, as Sachs himself has revealed that the shoe will be restocking this month!

The NikeCraft "General Purpose Shoe" debuted in a "Studio" colourway, and featured a neutral-toned mesh and suede upper, with hits of bright blue adding extra detailing. Designed with a breathable knit and three-piece moulded cup sole, the shoe was designed for everyday wear, providing the wearer with "comfort, support and a high degree of tactile sensation in a well-priced product."
Taking to Instagram to address the community, Sachs said “If you missed out today, this is not your last chance to buy the shoe. You will not be left turning to resellers.” Explaining that the General Purpose Shoe was designed to be a perennial, a restock is expected to happen on the 5th of August, but if you miss out on those then don't panic, as more colourways are expected to drop soon.
