More than two decades ago, Nike and Sergio Lozano would flip the sneaker world on its head, releasing a revolutionary shoe with a design somewhat bizarrely rooted in human anatomy.
A few funny looks would have been understandable when such an idea was pitched in the Swoosh design studio. A lace system inspired by a set of ribs, an outsole taking its cues from a human spine, mesh and suede representing muscle fibre? Even now, it all sounds a bit… are you sure, mate?
Fast-forward all these years, and any potential naysayers look incredibly silly, with most shoes only dreaming of boasting even a small portion of the legacy that now surrounds the Air Max 95.
With all that said, the silhouette continues to keep us on our toes, and there are plenty of drops lined up for the coming weeks and months well worth marking your calendars for.
