The Women's-Exclusive Air Jordan 1 High OG "Starfish" Is Reportedly Inspired by Birkin Bags

Late last year we were treated to an early preview of the women’s-exclusive Air Jordan 1 High OG “Starfish,” that came in the form of a mock-up by zsneakerheadz. Now, the pair is finally available to cop, and it looks just as good as when it subtly appeared in Jordan’s latest brand ambassador announcement.

Welcoming Dallas Wings’ Isabelle Harrison to their roster, the announcement showed the NBA star holding a pair of the Jordan 1 sneakers, which apparently draw on luxury brand Hermes’ Birkin bags and signature orange hue for inspiration. The black, orange and white makeup also nod to the Jumpman’s “Shattered Backboard” colourways, a famed family that reference the orange and black uniform Jordan wore when he shattered a glass backboard during an exhibition game in 1985.

The “Starfish” Air Jordan 1 features a clean white base, whilst the bright orange hue dresses the overlays, laces and Nike Swoosh. This comes contrasted with a black collar, as well as black Jordan branding on the ankle flaps. The “Starfish” AJ1 then features a white and orange sole unit which rounds off the colourway perfectly.
