It looks like Kanye West is getting pretty serious about basketball. Last month, the American rapper and fashion designer took to SLAM Magazine to tease his Donda Academy merch, and now, we're taking our first look at the Yeezy Basketball Knit "Slate Azure". The second colourway to take on this particular iteration of the silhouette, here's everything that we know so far.
Featuring a full Primeknit upper, the "Slate Azure" ditches the more structured design of the QNTM in favour of something a little more flexible. Painted in a beige hue, bright blue accents make their way throughout the BSKTBL, while a stealthy black ankle collar offers a stark amount of contrast that's complemented by the laces.
The toebox is infused with a sparkling display, kind of like what you'd see on specific 350 V2 models, while the heel is also done up with 3M so you can flex even in low-light conditions. To round it all off, 380-inspired adidas Boost midsole sits down below, and this is lined with a slither of blue, giving the Yeezy an insanely striking aesthetic that's unlike anything else out there.
If you want to cop something unique this season, the adidas YZY BSKTBL Knit "Slate Azure" is expected to receive a shock drop during NBA All-Star Weekend, with a wider release rumoured for the middle of May. Let us know what you think of Ye's next release, and in related news, these five iconic Yeezys are all making a comeback in 2022!
