The Nike Air Max 1 is easily one of the most iconic sneakers of all time and it’s made an impressive return throughout 2020. Now, as the year comes to a close, a brand-new variant of the silhouette has just been unveiled with an interesting twist.
While at first sight the Nike Air Max 1 “Summit White/Sail/Medium Khaki” may look like an understated release, it’s worth noting that the pair are specially designed to naturally wear away over time, giving the shoe a personal appearance over time. Nike has toyed with the concept before, however this looks like the best attempt yet!
The uppers scream premium quality even from a first glance, with supple leather used to showcase the AM1’s iconic panelling. Canvas and mesh are also present throughout the sneakers, with Nike’s signature Swoosh logo present across both the lateral and medial sides and embroidered onto the tongue and heel for another special-edition feature.
Underfoot, a rubber midsole plays hosts to plenty of cushioning and of-course the all important visible Air unit that was pioneered by Tinker Hatfield when the AM1 first launched all the way back in 1987.
The Nike Air Max 1 “Summit White/Sail/Medium Khaki” is set to launch soon at retailers across the globe, so if you’re loving these wear-away Air Maxes as much as we are make sure you’re clued up on how to cop! In the meantime, keep it locked right here at The Sole Supplier and check out the KITH x Nike AF1 “New York” that’s just been unveiled!
