Hands down the most iconic skateboarder of a generation, Tony Hawk set the standard for all things skating, and now he’s joining Vans for an extensive partnership. Bringing a lifetime of world-class experience to the skating brand, Hawk has been a fan of Vans since the ‘70s, so there’s no one better to team with the brand in 2020.
What does the Hawk x Vans partnership entail? Hawk will promote Vans’ global skate initiatives and will carry on delivering commentary for the Vans Park series. But, a key part of the skater’s role is to develop a new professional vert skateboarding competition. In a statement, Hawk said: “Vans has supported skateboarding since the very beginning, and never wavered in its commitment, even with massive mainstream success. I have always respected their integrity, so it’s an honour to officially join forces and help continue to grow skateboarding culture in the most authentic way possible. ”
Over the course of 2020, fans of both Tony Hawk and Vans can expect different skating initiatives to unfold – from new competitions to crowd-favourite series’. Check out the announcement video below and let us know what you think about this new partnership!
In other news, the Vans Era “Neon Pack” nods to this season’s highlighter-hued trend.
