Legendary heavy metal band Metallica have spent the last few weeks celebrating the 30th anniversary of their iconic Black Album, the record that arguably propelled metal music into the mainstream. To further recognise the milestone, the band have joined forces with Vans to release two collaborative sneakers that feature artwork from Pushead, another longtime Metallica associate.
Both the Sk8-Hi and Slip-On silhouettes will see release, both featuring artwork that accompanied the hit single “Sad But True” that features two skulls looking at each other. There’s no doubt that these are set to be a popular release with both Metallica fans and footwear collectors, so read on for details on how you can cop.
Decked out in a base-layer of black, both pairs showcase white detailing and are crafted from durable canvas in traditional Vans fashion. The Sk8-Hi offers up a traditional lacing system with Vans “Off The Wall” branding on the tongue tabs. The Slip-On instead opts for a plush lining and is fastened via elastic panels, with branding coming in the form of a small logo tab on the medial side.
White midsoles complete the look across both pairs, with the Sk8-Hi printed with Metallica’s signature logo in silver for an extra collaborative detail. If you’re vibing with the Metallica x Vans “Sad But True” pack as much as we are, then the good news is that the pairs are set to drop on 25th July, although numbers will be limited. Make sure to keep it locked in right here at The Sole Supplier for all the latest and while you’re here, check out every high heat sneaker set to drop this week!
