They say history repeats itself, and this is most certainly the case when it comes to sneaker releases. Earlier this week, we reported that queue jumpers were being beat up during the Air Jordan 1 'Rookie Of The Year' launch in China, and now, more violence has erupted during the launch of the highly coveted Air Jordan 1 'Origin Story'.
Made to celebrate the release of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, the 'Origin Story' is heavily inspired by Miles Morales, who plays the main protagonist in the animated film. Done up in red, black, and white, this shoe stays true to the OG sneaker, while additional details including reflective material and dotted patterns along the upper are inspired by the protagonist's costume.
Sent in by an anonymous source, crowds of people can be seen fighting over the shoe near an END. Clothing store. As with many limited releases, such as this week's Nike Air Fear of God 1 or the Yeezy 350 V2 'Semi Frozen Yellow', sneakerheads can go to daring lengths to cop, but putting yourself and other people in danger is not the way to do it, and definitely not the way Spider-Man would've wanted you to do it, which is pretty ironic in itself.
