As the football and fashion worlds continue to converge, the doors are opening for more and more teams to embrace the stylistic side of the beautiful game. Latest to join the ranks is London's own Walthamstow FC and its kit sponsor Admiral, with both set out to prove that you don't have to be part of the top flight to welcome style into the mix.
While three years in development might seem like a long time for a football kit, it's apparent there's more than meets the eye here. Walthamstow FC and Admiral tapped legendary arts and crafts William Morris for the print, making use of his Yare pattern from 1892. The print itself has been meticulously redrawn and designed by the Admiral team, capturing the essence of the repeatable design.
With permission from the William Morris Gallery, appropriate alterations have been made so the kit features Walthamstow FC's home and away colours. As a result, a mixture of blue hues adorn the home addition, while muted greys, blacks and greens decorate its counterpart. For those looking to get their hands on the Walthamstow FC x Admiral x The William Morris Gallery shirts, they are currently available on the gallery's website. In other football/fashion news, FC Barcelona pays homage to club legend Johan Cruyff.
