It’s official. The luxury Japanese brand PRINCIPE PRIVE has teamed up with sacai and Nike to craft one of the most expensive pairs of sneakers of the year. Inspired by modern art, this pair of re-worked Nike Blazers appears to be covered from top to toe in rust.
Recruiting expert artisans to hand paint the Blazers, PRINCIPE PRIVE have elevated the signature crisp white finish of the pair with delicate coats of paint to give the illusion of rust build up. On the toe box, Swoosh and ankle, the shoe is distressed to create a 3D worn-in look. An undeniably distinctive look, you don’t need to worry about the colours transferring onto clothes or running because of the specialist acrylic-blend pant used in the process.
Orders for the sacai x Nike Blazer Mid ‘Rusted’ sneakers are set to launch via PRINCIPE PRIVE’s web store and they’ll set you back about £900. You can expect a bit of a wait for them to arrive, too – as the final touches are applied by hand.
