The "Shattered Backboard" moniker has got to be one of Michael Jordan's most famous releases in history. A name that first came about back in 1985 when MJ was preparing for his second season in the NBA, he dunked at the net so hard that it completely smashed the backboard. While the colourway has previously been used on multiple Air Jordan 1 Highs, we're now getting our best look yet at the Air Jordan 1 Low OG "Starfish" which repurposes this classic colourway.
A homage to the "Reverse Shattered Backboard" makeup from 2016, this Air Jordan 1 Low features an ultra premium leather construction. Working on top of a crisp white base, orange "Starfish" panels wrap around the heel, lacing system, and toebox for that legendary colourblocked look that we all know and love.
A stealthy black Nike Swoosh shoots across the lateral and medial side walls, and this is complemented by the laces that tie everything together. To round it all off, the signature winged basketball motif is finely stitched around the back, finalising the iconic aesthetic.
Now for that all-important release date. According to our sources, the Nike Air Jordan 1 Low OG "Starfish" is set to drop on August 28th and will come in full family sizes. Let us know if you'll be going for these later this month, and in related news, Travis Scott recently teased the SoleFly x Air Jordan 1 Low!
