During NBA All-Star weekend, adidas revealed its “Remember The Why” showcase in Salt Lake City, giving people a chance to preview what the brand had in store for 2023. Among the collection was the Crazy IIInfinity, a shoe that harked back to the brand’s early 2000s basketball era.
Those with an interest in basketball will realise that this is in fact an updated version of Kobe’s adidas Crazy 1, arguably one of the most controversial pieces of footwear to have ever been designed. The Crazy IIInfinity boasts a sleeker silhouette, introducing a slanted toe that drastically alters the overall shape of the shoe. At first, the sculpted panel on the side wall looks unchanged, yet look more closely and you can see that there is no separation between the upper and midsole, giving the shoe a more cohesive feel. Of course, there is the addition of the lace shroud with its zip closure that enhances the shoe’s streamlined finish. This “Black Off-White” edition plays into the minimal tones used on the capsule’s clothing, allowing you to fully embrace the “Remember The Why” motif that adidas is trying to communicate.
No official release date has been issued, so hopefully it isn’t too long before the 3-Stripes are able to provide more information on the Crazy IIInfinity. For further updates on the “Remember The Why” collection, keep it locked into The Sole Supplier!
