Grace Wales Bonner celebrates the 10th anniversary of her eponymous fashion label with a hugely limited adidas Samba colourway. The award-winning designer from South London continues to play a pivotal role in the German sportswear giant’s collaborative portfolio, firmly embracing the luxurious design language drawn from European and Afro-Atlantic subcultures. The Wales Bonner adidas Samba “Black Gold” employs a high-end fashion update to the legendary terrace trainer.
This exclusive rendition boasts a premium leather upper, bathed in stealthy all-black from heel to toe. Signature razor-edged 3-Stripes swathe the sides, embellished with metallic gold studs oozing with elegance. Contrasting white stitching envelops the edges of the rear - a signature detail spotted on past Wales Bonner collabs. The oversized fold-over tongue features co-branded logos and a gold debossed numbered label tucked underneath. Additional co-branding appears on the sockliners, back by a low-profile rubber sole engulfed in pitch-black. Limited to 750 individually numbered pairs, this is a fitting release to celebrate the fashion brand’s significant milestone.
