Wales Bonner x adidas Samba Silver

Wales Bonner and adidas get ready to stir up the terrace talk hype as they pair up for an exciting third collection for 2023. Collaborative editions of the Samba reached a peak in 2022, with the silhouette donned by anyone from your local adi-dad to your favourite influencer. Still channelling its signature mix of European heritage with an Afro-Atlantic spirit, this “Silver” Wales Bonner Samba is certainly going to shine a light on the archival classic.

Sat atop a dark brown rubber sole is a shimmery silver leather, taking the icon down an unfamiliar path. The 3-Stripes on the side wall are presented in a crocheted-like fashion, similar to the tooling we saw on Bonner’s “Core Black” Samba edition from 2021. The heel tab and laces also adopt the beige tones that we have grown to expect from Bonner’s library of colours, used on the previous “Orange Ecru” and “Cream Green” editions. These leather accents ground the pair’s shiny profile and instead lean towards the Wales Bonner aesthetic. Co-branding can be spotted on the lateral quarter, a simple font bearing the brand’s wordmark in a matching cream. Unlike the previous collection, the extended tongue returns, folding over the laces as a nod to the Samba’s footballing heritage.

While this is arguably the loudest of Wales Bonner Samba editions, you can still expect these to sell out just as quickly, with fans eager to get their hands on a pair for retail. These will be landing on adidas CONFIRMED and select retailers in June 2023 in limited quantities.
