Sporty & Rich steps back on the court with its favourite doubles partner adidas, this time setting its eyes on the archival SL72. Having already dropped a slew of tasteful editions of the Samba and Stan Smith, it’s only right that the two keep riding the wave of sporty silhouettes. Inspired by S&R founder Emily Oberg’s half-Swedish roots, the make-up embraces the colours of the national flag, albeit in an understated palette. We reckon the Sporty & Rich SL 72 could be a huge hit with the Scandi girls, but is this going to be on your pick-up list this year?
Based in a sport blue ripstop canvas across the majority of the upper, the set of 3-Stripes is cut from a dark shade of tumbled yellow leather that provides a tasteful contrast. A collaborative spellout is printed in a simple white font, details that match the heavy cotton laces which give this release a retro aesthetic. Soft blue suede provides the necessary overlays across the heel, mudguard and toe to complete the silhouette’s traditional tooling.
Similar to the previous Samba editions, the inside ankle collar has been lined in a silk-like texture, along with the padded tongues that bear a woven label and not your typical lightweight nylon tongue.
