The adidas TRX Mesh SPZL "Blue Yellow" reimagines a true adidas classic, blending archival inspiration with SPEZIAL's signature attention to detail. First made famous by Roger Daltrey in the 1980 film McVicar, the blue and yellow TRX has long been an icon in adidas history. Now, for Spring/Summer 2025, Gary Aspden and the SPZL team have put their own refined spin on this beloved TRX SPZL.
Unlike previous TRX reissues that used a moulded midsole, this version features an EVA wedge with a scooped cutaway, elevating the shoe’s overall shape. The mesh upper is inspired by a Marathon TR made in Scheinfeld in 2000, with a reworked pattern for a fresh yet authentic look. Other details include a dimpled tongue, cotton laces, and carefully curated yellow accents, which took multiple rounds of sampling to perfect.
Rather than a 1:1 reissue, SPZL embraces the spirit of athlete service one-offs, where subtle tweaks in materials, overlays, and construction were made to meet the needs of the wearer. The result is a TRX like no other—rooted in history but designed for today.
