adidas adds to the ever-expanding world of cosy slip-ons with this latest pair of adiFOM Superstars. Boasting comfort and style, the icon has been given a contemporary makeover that plays into the mule trend that has taken the footwear industry by storm. Merrell and Yeezy have both set the standard for the functional outdoor slipper, but this adiFOM Superstar from adidas is ready to contend for the market share.
A one-piece foam construction forms the entirety of the slipper, doused in the black colourway that the icon is known for. White stripes and a mock-heel panel provide minimal branding that ensures these are instantly recognisable when on foot. In this case, the shelltoe detailing is maximised, grooves stretching from toe to ankle collar, allowing for flexion and ease. The foam construction also adheres to adidas’ sustainability policy as 50% of the material is partly made from sugarcane. Here adidas have given us a pair for the streets and a solid cosy day shoe rolled into one.
