adidas adiFOM Superstar White Black

adidas takes another step into the futuristic world of slip-on shoes with its latest adiFOM Superstar. The people over at the 3-Stripes aren’t afraid to transform its classic catalogue of silhouettes as we have already seen with the adiFOM Q and Puffylette release. Now the foam tooling has knocked on the door of the Superstar, turning the icon into a comfy sustainable slip-on.

This “White Black” colourway keeps it minimal with its features and branding. The only way in which the adiFOM Superstars are comparable to the original is through the extended shell toe. adidas focuses on the silhouette’s stand-out feature, scaling it up on the front portion of the upper. The grooves travel from the toe all the way to the ankle collar, mimicking the iconic design feature while giving the front portion all the necessary flexion it requires. The one-piece foam body is partly made from sugarcane, and allows adidas’ another way in which to explore minimising plastic waste.
