adidas Superstar Red Black

adidas’ b-ball shoe that has transcended the hardwood court, the Superstar, drops in elegant burgundy and black. First introduced in 1970, the Superstar (AKA the “Shelltoe”), had a durable, lightweight leather upper and sole grip that was in demand among basketball players. Today, it’s a cultural icon and a lifestyle shoe. Meet one of its latest iterations, the adidas Superstar “Red Black”.

This Superstar has a glossy patent leather upper in wine-red. The iconic rubber shell toe, on the other hand, is black, matching the slim, waxed laces and the leather sock liner. The serrated-edged leather 3-Stripes on both sides of the shoe follow the tonal burgundy colour of the rest of the upper. Metallic gold adidas branding can be found on the tongues whilst Superstar branding is stamped in gold foil on the lateral mid-panels. A black rubber sole unit with a herringbone-patterned tread caps off this release.
