Gerrit Jacob x adidas Superstar Purple

Berlin-based designer elevating German working-class aesthetics and notions of kitsch, Gerrit Jacob, has joined forces with adidas to dress up the latter’s Superstar. Introducing the Gerrit Jacob x adidas Superstar “Purple”.

Jacob injects his effervescent persona into the Superstar. A basic white leather upper with the silhouette’s rubber shell toe is totally transformed by the designer using flaming stencils to create smouldering purple outlines. Adorned in orchid tinges, the silhouette’s plain white base, including the Three Stripes on either side of the shoe, is completely concealed. A white mesh sock liner, grey insoles with white adidas branding and white laces are the only elements that aren’t in the titular purple colour. A rubber cupsole sporting Jacob’s stencilled purple design round out the look of this shoe.
