adidas and LABRUM reunite to celebrate unity, identity and Pan-African pride with the LABRUM x adidas Superstar "Africa Day". Following their ultra-limited Samba collaboration in 2023, LABRUM now lends its creative voice to a global icon, reshaping the classic shell toe through the lens of craftsmanship and cultural storytelling. Timed to honour Africa Day on May 25, this drop is more than just product—it is a platform.

At the heart of the design is LABRUM’s elevated take on materials and form. The signature rubber toe is replaced with premium aniline leather, while the adidas Freizeit gum sole brings retro lifestyle comfort underfoot. The Pan-African flag colours appear in hand-stitched detail across the lateral Three Stripes, contrasted by tonal black stitching on the medial. On the tongue, the Nomoli emblem returns—this time debossed and cross-stitched in red, offering a refined tribute to ancestral spirit and heritage.

Created to celebrate LABRUM’s fifth year of Africa Day projects, this release is rooted in purpose. As founder Foday Dumbuya puts it, the Superstar becomes a tribute not just to African independence, but to the ongoing fight for freedom, equity and self-determination.

Retailing at £120, all proceeds go to Freetown, LABRUM’s charitable foundation.
