Chinese creative imprint Melting Sadness reunites with adidas for another striking collaboration featuring the iconic adidas Superstar. Consistently partnering with adidas Originals in the last three years, artist-designer Zhang Quan returns with his whimsical design aesthetics to put his creative spin on the shoe. This Melting Sadness x adidas Superstar “Black Denim” flaunts skeletal details and denim-laden uppers to give the ‘70s basketball icon a major design overhaul and achieve a Halloween-ready makeover.

Melting Sadness looks to gear up for the spooky season with this new colourway, seemingly starring the playful bunny character Karoro, often identified for its large bunny ears and round tail on the heel panel. The shoe has an all-black denim construction, with skeletal overlays encompassing the 3-Stripes and rear section. Light brown and red accents highlight the stitching, while the back tab arrives in a tan shade, flaunting a classic adidas Trefoil logo. The denim wrap extends towards the midsole, while the cream white semi-translucent outsole showcases a skeletal footprint. Melting Sadness’ signature bunny ears and tail complete this eccentric adidas Superstar reinterpretation.
