Description

The Balenciaga Track 2 Black is definitely not for the faint of heart. The successor to 2018’s wildly popular Track sneaker, this insane silhouette has helped pioneer 2019’s chunky shoe trend that’s all the rage these days. The godfather of dad shoes, it’s available to cop right now for a cool £595. Before you say it’s overpriced, we should tell you that it’s worth every single penny, and here’s why!

Painted in an all black colour scheme, the first thing that you will notice about the Track 2 Black is the highly intricate upper that’s made up of over 180 individual pieces to create a dense web of buttery smooth leather and ultra breathable mesh elements. Distressed pieces provide the shoe with an even more intriguing design, while gun metal accents feature throughout for a pop of colour.

Down below, you’ll find an extra chunky dual density EVA midsole that’s surprisingly lightweight and comfortable when compared to the crazy upper, and to round it all off, “TRACK.2” detailing hits the tongue, while “BALENCIAGA” branding graces the ankle in a clean white hue.

Like its predecessor, the Track 2 Black’s design is inspired by retro running shoes of the past. However, unlike the original shoe, it does away with the overcomplicated lacing system that’s made up of two sets of rope laces. Whether this is a blessing or a curse is up for debate, but it certainly didn’t need it.

Available right now from stockists like Mr Porter, the Balenciaga Track 2 Black is definitely not made for everyone’s tastes. That being said, if you’re looking for a shoe that’s sure to turn heads for many years to come, then this has got your name written all over it!
