New Balance has a new “Protection Pack” for the iconic NB 2002R, but it boasts an updated style unlike any of the past iterations we’ve seen before! This latest batch gets a utilitarian makeover in the form of ripstop uppers and toggle lacing systems, features often seen on hiking shoes and trail-running sneakers. The New Balance 2002R “Ripstop Protection Pack Navy” goes for a stealthy design approach, flaunting a darker navy blue shade than the “Navy Grey” colourway of the previous collection.
Recognised due to its jagged lines and dangling layers, the “Protection Pack” returns with outdoor-inspired upgrades to introduce versatility and trail-ready style to the lineup. This colourway has a navy blue ripstop mesh base reinforced with uncut suede overlays and a smooth leather tongue panel with exposed foam. Greyscale accents adorn the signature N logos on the sides and the heel midsole section. Additionally, black tones cover the perforated rear suede panel, giving this NB 2002R colourway a darker finish. The toggle rope lacing system has white speckles that stand out from afar. More greyscale pigments make up the cushioned ABZORB SBS midsole, while the durable Stability Web outsole delivers the finishing touches.
