The base of the upper is nylon rather than mesh in the titular Aluminium Grey, showing on the toe box, part of the quarter and the heel. The overlays on the toe cap, the mudguard, the eyestay panel, the heel tab and the cupsole are all in a contrasting light grey suede. The oversized “N” logo across the medial quarter is also in matching light grey suede. The medial heel bears an embossed “New Balance” text logo in dark grey. Subtle grey-on-grey NB branding sits on the tongue tab. The flared midsole is pure white. The interesting details on this shoe are the cork insole that hints at the shoe’s sustainable construction and the semi-translucent beige-coloured wraparound lugged gum outsole.
