When Teddy Santis revived the NB 550 through his fashion and lifestyle label Aimé Leon Dore in 2020, it saw massive success. Now, the designer is pivoting to the silhouette's high-top version: the New Balance 650R. Here, we're taking a closer look at the Aime Leon Dore x New Balance 650R Blue colourway!
Like the NB 550, the 650R contains all the classic features, like the "N' logos on both sides, the perforated leather panels, and chunky EVA midsole that provides all-day cushioning and comfort. The only difference is that it sports higher padded collars, providing more support to the user's ankles just like they did back in the '90s when they were used for basketball. This ALD NB 650R features a predominantly blue upper, with contrasting white underlays and grey details like the "N" branding logos, "new balance" on the lateral collars, and shoe laces.
