New Balance 990v4 Grey Violet Timberwolf

New Balance returns to the Made in USA 990v4 in "Grey Violet Timberwolf", a colourway that keeps things soft rather than loud. Grey violet sets the tone across the upper, with beige running through the material mix for a muted, tonal effect. Hairy suede and synthetic overlays frame a custom wool blend vamp, so the upper shifts in texture instead of colour, and reflective accents catch the light.

The model began as a running project, and the design holds onto that engineering: ABZORB cushioning at the heel and forefoot absorbs impact through compression resistance, supported by a combination ENCAP and C-CAP midsole. NDurance rubber forms the outsole beneath the midsole. That heritage now reads more as everyday wear than mileage, and the restrained palette slots in alongside washed denim or relaxed trousers. A strong option for anyone after a more understated pair.
