Palace x New Balance 991 Teal Tan Multi

The New Balance 991 has played host to many great collaborations over the years, with this Palace “Tan Multi” edition only adding to the silhouette’s library of great projects. The UK skateboard retailer has already combined forces with the Boston-based footwear brand in the past year, releasing two takes of the NB 580 back in ’22. Staying true to form, Palace steers the NB 991 in a different direction, leaving behind the various monotone palettes that the ‘01 runner is familiar with to give us this tasteful “Teal Tan Multi” pair.

Bookending the upper are the tan suede panels on the toe and heel, with all the colourful details sprinkled in between. A teal ripstop canvas forms the NB 991’s underlay, with a purple leather webbing over the top, much like it does on the side wall “N”. Co-branding remains subtle, with a “PALACE” embroidered above the standard New Balance wordmark on the tongue, while on the rear “PAL” and “ACE” replaces the “991” found on the heel of the MiUK editions. As a final touch, the ABZORB sole units are coated in a glossy teal and purple, tying the upper and midsole neatly together. Although these are a far cry from the regular MiUK “Grey” editions that you’ll normally find on the shelves of your local store, you can rest assured that there’s still an eager audience waiting to swipe up this Palace colourway.
