Japanese fashion brand Issey Miyake unveils its first-ever footwear collaboration with New Balance featuring the archival MT10. This low-profile silhouette from 2011 is part of the brand’s Minimus catalogue, a range of minimalist trail-running shoes mimicking the feeling of running barefoot. Dropping alongside the “Black” and “Blue Green” iterations, this Issey Miyake x New Balance MT10 “White” presents a runway-ready rework of the barefoot trainer, in line with the Spring and Summer 2024 collection’s “natural and honest shape” concept.
This iteration flaunts a clean white mesh base with leather backing on the toe and quarter panels. Cream tones envelop the synthetic overlays on the forefoot, eyestay, and rear, creating a subtle contrast. The “N” logo decorates the lateral panel, offset by the NB symbol on the tongue and heel. A thin EVA foam midsole sits underfoot, offering impact protection and ample cushioning whilst maintaining a stable, low-to-the-ground ride. The extra-durable Vibram outsole showcases circular nubs from heel to toe, engineered to provide superior traction on and off the trails.
