The Nike Adapt LE 01 Grey Red are the latest sneakers to feature the label’s groundbreaking self-lacing technology that was first seen on the grail-status Air Mag shoes that featured in Back to the Future Part II. Since then, the technology has been seen on multiple pairs and has adopted the name “Adapt”, referencing how the shoe adapts itself to the wearer’s foot.
This latest rendition is the first Adapt sneaker to showcase a visible air unit, with Air Max vibes referenced throughout including the colorway that is highly reminiscent of the original AM90 “infrared”. The smooth one-piece upper is accentuated with a dark-grey Nike Swoosh, a reinforced toe-box panel and a red heel overlay - otherwise remaining relatively simple.
Nike Air technology is situated underfoot giving the same comfortable and cushioned ride that we’re used to by now, with two concealed buttons one each midsole tightening and loosening the futuristic lacing system.
The Nike Adapt LE 01 Infrared are still awaiting a release date, however we’ve no doubt that upon the launch they will sell out instantly - Adapt releases are always met with unprecedented levels of hype.
