The classic Air Force 1 silhouette may have fallen out of favour as a basketball shoe, but its presence within the lifestyle market is unrivaled. So much so, that it's become the go-to canvas for collaborations, special-edition versions and cultural celebrations. The latest themed AF1 to hit the market is the Nike Air Force 1 Low "West Indies", a rerelease of a pair that originally launched in 2002.
Releasing once more to celebrate the West Indian Day Parade on September the 5th, the special-edition pair arrives in a simplistic white and green make-up, with hints of red and gold paying tribute to the territories in question. A white leather base gives way to bright green heel panels, which match the green sock liners and provides the sneakers with extra pops of colour. The lateral heels feature themed "West Indies" embroidery in red and green, with a palm tree motif appearing in golden yellow. The same gold shade appears on the gold-on-green branding hits at the heel and tongue tabs. Finally, a white midsole comes topped with a vibrant green outsole to round off the colourway.
