Nike Air Force 1 PLT.AF.FORM Smiley White Purple

The Swoosh is set to pour out new colourways of the PLT.AF.ORM updated Air Force 1, pushing the deconstructed tooling into yet another year. The new PLT.AF.ORM now sits alongside the other contemporary Air Force 1 editions like the Shadow and N.354, bearing extra height and a collapsed Swoosh. This new “Smiley White Purple” colourway is a gentle addition that complements the model’s new features and makes for a great entry point to the update.

The platform midsole is swathed in a cream tone that creates a separation between the upper and itself. The split towards the Air branding on the heel is an aesthetic touch, drawing on the double-stacked nature of recent Nike models from its ISPA division. Above, the exterior toys with the branding, a navy suede Swoosh falling from its usual position. The asymmetrical motif is emphasised by uneven panel cuts and random cross stitching, deconstructed details that bring a playful edge to the PLT.AF.ORM. Next to the heel logo sits a small embroidered smiley face, separating this release from the crowd. Nike is no stranger to a smiley face, hoping it creates a positive effect on the wearer who wants to radiate feel-good energy. That’s exactly the case on this occasion, as the extra comfort and playful features are definitely worth smiling about.
