Nike Air Force 1 PLT.AF.ORM White Metallic Gold

The Swoosh is set to hit the shelves with another remix of its classic Air Force 1, named the PLT.AF.ORM. It would seem as though Nike has gone full steam ahead with not only deconstructing the silhouette but also the title given to them, such as on the NDSTRKT update. This predominantly white shoe gets close to being subtle but throws that concept to the side with its new gold lace bling.

This PLT.AF.ORM release contains a number of changes to the regular version of the Air Force 1, most notably, the midsole. The stack height has been increased, nodding to the maxed-out midsoles that come from high-end footwear and is now a popular feature on Nikes today. Take a look at how sacai has altered the classic silhouette of the Cortez and Waffle shoe, bigger is clearly better in this day and age. The lace decorations make their way onto this release thanks to the success of the “Chain Pack” from 2020 which saw the Air Max 90 and 95 dressed up in bling. The fallen Swoosh and jagged cut on the lace panel are also details inspired by the previous Air Force 1 Shadow, a women’s-exclusive that really flew off the shelves. Apart from the Swoosh that has been given a deconstructed twist, the usual branding can be seen on the tongue and heel tab.
