The Air Jordan 1 is steeped in heritage and has a long line of iconic colourways in its back catalogue. Whilst this obviously has benefits, creating future classics can become a much harder task, as new iterations don't tend to have the same pull. The Air Jordan 1 "Skyline" could change this however, as although never worn by the basketball star, this pair is based on another crucial moment in Jordan history.
The "Skyline' AJ1 colourway is reportedly inspired by the iconic photo of MJ dunking in front of the Chicago skyline at dusk, which is believed to have laid the foundation for the Jumpman logo. While the sneaker is still in its early development stages, early mock-ups suggest that it'll take on a gradient-style look, with ombré denim panels dressing the overlays, shifting from light orange to blue in colour, which contrasts against a crisp, white base. Black Jordan branding and a black Nike Swoosh are expected to provide bold touches, whilst a "Sail" and black sole unit rounds out the colourway.
Expected to launch sometime in 2023, be sure to keep it locked for more images as they surface!
