Air Jordan 1 High Zoom Comfort 2 Grey Purple

The Air Jordan 1 High received its first Zoom Comfort update back in 2021. Since then, the people over at Jumpman have released a range of colourways onto the shelves of streetwear shops for the public to take or leave as they please. So far, the new silhouette has nestled its way into the sneakerhead community thanks to its extra Zoom unit that provides the levels of comfort that the old ’85 sole unit was lacking.

This Grey and Purple pair echoes the grey tones that we saw on the London release from ’21 while still doing enough to pave its own lane. The upper seeks to deconstruct the usual panelling system often found on the Air Jordan 1 High OG’s, most obviously taking the knife to the side and heel portion of the shoe. The purple suede collar remains detached, held together by the off-white laces and side panel stitching. Rather than the usual sewn-on swoosh, the iconic logo is carved out, allowing the darker grey tone beneath to beckon through. A chunky midsole has been given the pre-aged treatment and produces the extra comfort associated with the update. Finally, a dash of blue has been used on the wing’s insignia and tongue patch, giving the branding the attention it deserves.
