Air Jordan 1 Low Purple Mocha

The people over at Jordan Brand seem to be warming up to the idea of using purple and brown colourways with this latest iteration of the Air Jordan 1 Low proving exactly that. Having seldom used the combination in previous years, the winterised Air Jordan 3 in the “Archaeo Brown” colourway seemed to indicate a change in direction. The colourway was most famously used on the Nike ACG Air Mowabb, which along with purple having strong ties to one of Michael Jordan’s most rivalled teams, the LA Lakers, could have been enough of a reason to steer clear. Now with this “Purple Mocha” pair of Air Jordan 1 Lows set for release, this colourway seems to no longer be avoided.

The classic colour-blocking scheme has been used on this iteration of the AJ1 Low, having “Mocha” leather panels on the toe, laces and heel, being contrasted with white. Sneakerhead’s ears will no doubt prick up when hearing the words “Jordan” and “Mocha” in the same sentence, thanks to Travis Scott collaborations and the coveted Air Jordan 1 High release from 2020. The Swoosh is where “Purple” comes into play, along with the laces and Jumpman logo, which helps this drop jump into new territory. This being said, the usual AJ1 comfort levels are to be expected because of the presence of leather quality and more importantly, the classic 85 midsoles. A beautiful Wings insignia sits on the heel in an embroidered “Purple”, rounding off this wonderful Air Jordan 1 package.
