Air Jordan 3 White Cement Reimagined

The Air Jordan 3 has somewhat of a cult fanbase, with a team member at The Sole Supplier even owning over 20 different versions of the silhouette. The love for 3s is most definitely out there. The AJ3s is no doubt a hot contender for the people’s top Jordan model but is nestled between the underappreciated Air Jordan 2 and beloved Air Jordan 4, it finds itself in that awkward middle child position.

Originally releasing in 1988, the Air Jordan 3 was a debut in more ways than one. It was the first Air Jordan designed by Tinker Hatfield, the first AJ to feature the Jumpman logo and the first to feature an exposed Air unit; it took a brave step forward and went on to influence the rest of the Jordan lineage of sneakers. Of course, the people over at the Swoosh know this best and want to pay homage to the silhouette’s first release with this “White Cement Reimagined” colourway.

This Air Jordan 3 Reimagined is designed to resemble the OG tooling and shape found on the 80s pair. Thanks to nostalgia and respect for the shoe’s original form, it’s always a big win for sneakerheads when they find out that Nike is bringing back the shoe’s original shape. The thick white leather found on most of the classic AJ3s is back in its true form, along with the highly coveted elephant print on the toe and heel. The midsole, eyestays and heel tab have been given the aged treatment, similar to the yellowing found on the “Lost & Found” Air Jordan 1s. The box has also taken design cues from the “Lost and Found” release with its pre-damaged edges and OG Jordan design. The final seal of approval for fans of the AJ3s comes in the form of the sought-after “Nike Air” on the heel, which in itself is enough to make the shoe worth copping.

These will drop on March 11th on the SNKRS app as well as a number of other select Nike outlets.
