The Air Jordan 5 Retro lands in "Laney", a Jordan Brand colourway that puts white leather across most of the upper. Varsity Maize and Varsity Royal accents run through the tongue, midsole and Jumpman branding, with an embroidered "23" along the lateral side. black detailing picks out the finer trims, while a mostly translucent outsole closes out the palette.

The colourway takes its name from Emsley A. Laney High School in Wilmington, North Carolina, where Michael Jordan played before his move to the University of North Carolina, and those school colours explain the blue and yellow hits against the leather base.
