Jordan Brand opens the vault once more as another grail sneaker returns for the first time. Headlining the Autumn ‘25 roster, the Air Jordan 5 Retro “Tokyo” expands the high-heat lineup celebrating the 35th anniversary of the AJ5, joining classic styles and exclusive collaborations in the pipeline. This limited-edition pair debuted in 2011 to commemorate the opening of the Jordan Tokyo 23 boutique in Japan, a tribute to MJ’s prominence not only in the US but also in Asia. Considered precious to many collectors, this non-OG colourway is a dream come true for longtime sneakerheads.

Inspired by the Japanese capital’s vibrant lifestyle, this AJ5 features a bright yellow suede upper with a translucent plastic netting on the mesh sidewalls for breathability. An embroidered “23” appears on the lateral rear in kanji form to honour the country’s cultures, a familiar detail if you had the “What The” iteration. The signature Jumpman logo adorns the rear and silver reflective tongue, while a “23” graphic animates the sockliner as a nod to the GOAT’s legendary jersey number. The innovative lace toggle and padded collars deliver a secure, supportive fit to bring out your A game on and off the court. Black speckles decorate the yellow shark teeth on the midsole to elevate the silhouette’s design further. A visible Air unit rests on the heel for adequate cushioning, shored up by icy herringbone traction patterns on the outsole.
