The Air Jordan 9 Retro OG “Space Jam” 2026 commemorates the 30th anniversary of the nostalgic sports comedy film. Also known as the “Chicago” or “True Red”, this OG colourway debuted in 1993 and last reissued in 2016, making it one of the most popular styles never worn by His Airness. While it’s clear that the AJ11 is the more popular “Space Jam” sneaker, this fresh AJ9 deserves a nod because of its significant role in the film, specifically when Looney Tunes duo Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck snuck inside MJ’s house to grab the shoe.
Rocking the original shape, this clean AJ9 features a pristine white leather upper with black nubuck overlays and laces for contrast. A vibrant red Jumpman logo adorns the lateral panel, complementing the embroidered “23” on the rear and the Air Jordan branding on the tongue. The rubberised Jumpman globe symbol on the back pays homage to the time when basketball became global thanks to the GOAT’s influence and popularity. The blacked-out polyurethane midsole encases Air units in the forefoot and heel for adequate cushioning and impact protection. From a performance standpoint, this silhouette offers enough support with its boot-like cut and secure lacing system. The unique patterns on the outsole, composed of various motivational words in several languages, deliver multidirectional traction.
