LFC x LBJ x Nike Air Max 1 Liverpool

They say the best things in life are unexpected. They also say the best things in life are free. While no one saw this three-way collab between Lebron, Liverpool and the Air Max 1 coming, something tells me you won’t find Nike dishing out complementary pairs on SNKRS anytime soon, just a hunch though. With Lebron James becoming part owner of Liverpool F.C back in 2011 and the club signing a five-year deal with the Swoosh in 2020, the three were all set for future collaborations.

Laying the foundations for a strong release we have the iconic Air Max 1 which is the canvas for the trio. Leather panels on the upper explore the green motifs found in the club’s crest and third kit. Similar to the heart of any Liverpool fan, you’ll find a red air unit providing the pulse for this Air Max 1. The insoles which contain the symbolic red Phoenix and Lebron’s Crown Logo are just one new additional co-branding feature on the shoe. On the heel tab, the traditional “Nike Air” has been swapped out for Strive for Greatness (SFG) and You’ll Never Walk Alone (YNWA), both given the King James font treatment in the process. Underneath, the sole switches between two different hues of green that are associated with the football club’s insignia.

This Nike Air Max 1 not only has all the Lebron and Liverpool fans excited but sneakerheads are looking to pick these up too. These will be dropping on the SNKRS app come March 4th at a retail price of £164.95, so make sure the alarm is set if you fancy grabbing a pair.
