Nike expands its Air Max 1 offerings with an all-new colourway ready to turn heads during spring and summer. The Air Max pioneer has been at the forefront of the Beaverton-based brand’s lifestyle selections, often the highlight of the annual Air Max Day celebrations. Joining a myriad of general-release AM1 iterations in 2024, the women’s Nike Air Max 1 “Dusty Cactus” offers a laid-back approach with a clean colour palette and pre-aged details.

The Nike Air Max 1 served as a beacon of innovation when designer Tinker Hatfield first sketched the silhouette in the mid-80s. This Nike AM1 colourway shares similarities with the “Clear Jade” iteration, clad in an equally striking pigment. The shoe boasts a pristine white mesh underlay, perfectly fitting your spring-summer rotation. Light grey suede covers the midfoot and heel overlays, while a teal suede mudguard adds a pop of colour atop the neutral base. Classic Nike Air branding embellishes the tongue, rear, and sockliners, a signature detail spotted across regular colourways. The sail white PU foam midsole delivers a pre-aged look, encapsulating a visible Nike Air bubble in the heel for bouncy and responsive cushioning. Nike’s patented waffle rubber sole, first formulated by brand co-founder Bill Bowerman, completes the old-school get-up of these timeless kicks.
