Nike’s Hangul Day 2023 collection takes shape as the brand unveils pairs one by one just in time for the event, held annually every 9th October. The Swoosh brand began celebrating the South Korean national holiday in 2021, joining Nike’s continuous pursuit to honour the Asian country’s culture through sneaker releases. This 2023 edition packs a lot of heat as the roster includes this Air Max 1, Air Force 1 Low GTX, Dunk Low, Cortez, and P-6000. Like the 2022 iteration, this Nike Air Max 1 “Hangul Day” maintains a neutral-toned construction ideal for your autumn sneaker rotation.

The iconic Air Max pioneer flaunts a pristine white mesh upper fortified by light brown suede overlays enveloping the mudguard, midfoot, and heel panels. Sail white Swooshes deliver a vintage aesthetic to the special-edition colourway. The rear fully immerses with the Korean Alphabet Day and showcases debossed Hangul characters that translate to “Nike”. Meanwhile, the “Est. 72” label on the right pair commemorates Nike’s year of establishment. These details also appear on the square hangtag. Pre-aged sail white hues engulf the PU midsole, encasing the visible Nike Air unit in the heel. The signature waffle sole caps off the autumn-ready makeover of this Air Max 1 colourway.
