Dating back to 1987, the Nike AM1 is one of the most important sneakers ever to be created, mainly due to the fact it showcased the first-ever visible Air unit in a sneaker. Now back with a brand-new twist, The Nike Air Max 1 “Hangul Day” does away with the Air unit in the AM1 for the first time ever. Offering a muted and pastel-like colour palette, the kicks are branded with a jewel Swoosh logo and lace up via slimline laces and a toggle system, a far cry from the retro design traits of the OG sneaker.
Of course, the most interesting feature here is the Air unit, which may instead be whited-out, as opposed to remove as implied by the name. As of yet it’s unclear until we get more details, much like the release date - which still remains unknown at the time of writing.
