Nike Air Max 1 Slide Sport Red

The folks at the Swoosh decide to push the boat out in 2023, celebrating the Air Max 1 OG “Red” with both a “Big Bubble” and Slide edition. Given the world of Slides has seen a huge increase in traffic as well as Nike’s Air Max 90 Slide from 2020, we probably should have expected the arrival of these. Nevertheless, we look forward to seeing all the on-feet pics of people rocking the Air Max 1 Slides in their summer fit pics.

Of course, the Air Max bubble is here in all its glory, ready to cushion your heel throughout the day. The strap is where a lot of the playful references take place, with the head of a red Swoosh embroidered onto the grey panelling and a shrunken mudguard stitched onto the side. The mesh resembles the clean white toe box, a feature that is always welcomed with open arms by fellow sneakerheads. Although the mesh is only here to serve an aesthetic purpose, breathability shouldn’t be a concern with these but if you are feeling a bit toasty, flicking them off is always an option. Underfoot is a mix of red, white and black hues, forming the iconic tread that can be located on almost every Air Max 1, bar the occasional Crepe editions.

Are these (or the "Panda"-inspired black and white colourway) definitely going to be in the rotation for the summer? We’ll be sure to be stocking up on a few pairs so make sure you’re quick.
