When Air Max Day rolls around every year on the 26th of March, footwear aficionados are eager to see what the Swoosh has in store for the day of celebrations. The recent leaks have revealed that the Air Max Scorpions will be among the action for that day, embracing the light-hearted approach that we’ve seen on a number of event-inspired Nike releases this year.

The Swoosh is rumoured to kick off the celebrations with this playful “Air Max Day” edition of the Scorpion, loaded with details both new and old. Multi-coloured Flyknit and chenille features make for an entertaining upper, nodding to the many Air Max Flyknit iterations of the past as well the 2023 Chinese New Year-themed pairs. A cartoon eye is embroidered onto the tongue, partly hidden under the thick cream rope laces that provide lockdown on the upper. Poking out from within the Scorpion’s complex Air unit are the hits of neon pink and yellow, implying the fun is only limited to the upper and can continue as we head downstairs.

While these aren’t official photos, we can already tell that this “Air Max Day” edition is looking promising, indicating that the rest of the ensemble may follow a similar motif.
