From Blokecore to Boots Only Summer, the latest embodiment of the sneaker/boot hybrid has arrived. Nike is dropping its take on a boot hybrid no one knew they needed in the Cryoshot . Debuting in the infamous Mercurial colourway that Ronaldo Nazario wore in the 1998 FIFA World Cup, this pair is teeming with nostalgia.
While the Total 90 comeback is already two stepping its way onto the day rave scene, the Cryoshot is primed all those who are dying to rewind the clock back to the simpler days of footy training and turkey twizzlers.
Cryo meaning “involving or producing cold, especially extreme cold”, the boot’s bottom portion has been ‘frozen’ with a see-through midsole which encases the rubber studs. Underfoot, the outsole is based on mini stud lugs that couple with segments of herringbone traction for extra-grip. Head onto the upper and it’s business as usual, with the quilted upper letting you feel like R9 in his prime. Lace these up and you will be weaving in and out of bouncers like some Joga Bonito highlight reel, top bins!
Is this the best or worst thing that has happened to the Nike Mercurial series? We know you lot have opinions on this one so don’t be afraid to let us know. Find out where you can buy the Nike Cryoshot Mercurial R9 by keeping it locked to The Sole Supplier!
