This ‘80s basketball icon from Nike arrives chock full of details both old and new. As the pre-aged trend continues to dominate the industry today, the Swoosh hits the rewind button with this ‘80s-inspired colour palette. If you’re looking for a Dunk that’s got all the modern materials with a retro twist, then this Dunk Low Athletic Department “Grey Red” edition is sure to tick a lot of boxes.
Sat atop a rubber midsole, the tasteful mixture of suede, canvas and leather panelling is covering all of the bases. While the bold shade of red on the Swoosh is a familiar sight, previously seen on the classic “St. John’s University” edition from the Be True To Your School Pack, the additional canvas accents are much less common. Forming the toe box and sidewall panelling, the light grey canvas introduces a texture that certainly separates these from the crowd, similar to what we saw on the recent “Sashiko” iteration. Inside, the “Athletic Department” motif circles a bulldog graphic on the sock liner, a feature that runs across the whole Athletic Department series such as on the Nike P-6000.
If you’re a fan of the Dunk Low silhouette but with an added element, then check out the upcoming corduroy editions as well. Make sure to keep it locked to The Sole Supplier if you’re keen on picking up a pair of Nike Dunk Low Athletic Department “Grey Red”!
