Nike Dunk Low Hangul Day

Nike introduces a new sneaker pack celebrating South Korea’s national holiday commemorating the Asian country’s Alphabet Day, commonly known as Hangul Day, held annually every 9th October. The brand launched Hangul Day sneakers in 2021 with an AF1 Low iteration. Now, the roster expands with this new Nike Dunk makeover. This Nike Dunk Low “Hangul Day” lands in a neutral-toned construction featuring grey and sail white accents, akin to other models in the pack, including the Air Max 1 and Air Force 1 Low GORE-TEX.

This release joins Nike’s constant tributes towards South Korean culture as the Oregon-based sportswear brand dropped notable styles in the past, like the “Taegeuk Warriors” pack in 2020 and Air Jordan 3 Retro “Seoul” in ‘18, among many others. Moreover, the brand has actively partnered with K-pop superstar G-Dragon, who helmed the PEACEMINUSONE x Nike Kwondo 1 collaboration. This special-edition Dunk Low flaunts a light grey suede underlay with pebbled leather overlays. Meanwhile, the Swoosh and nylon tongue boast a clean white hue, juxtaposing the vintage-inspired sail white laces. The heel panel on the left pair features Hangul characters that directly translate to “Nike”, while an “Est. 72” label sits on the right. These same labels appear on the hangtag. The gum rubber sole unit completes this commemorative colourway.
