Resuming Nike’s quest to reduce the brand’s carbon footprint, the unconventional ISPA sub-label introduces the slimmed-down counterpart of the chunky Nike ISPA Link. Like recent models in the ISPA franchise, the Nike ISPA Link Axis flaunts eco-friendly materials all over the upper, showcasing 100% recycled polyester on the Flyknit upper and 100% recycled TPU composed of scrap Nike airbags. This “Total Orange” rendition combines vibrant yellow and orange accents atop an all-white base, nearly resembling candy corn aesthetics.
The sustainable shoe resonates with the sub-label’s circular design principles, making it the epitome of disassembly, waste avoidance, and upcycling. This rendition boasts a white Flyknit base, with orange and yellow strips across the mid-section flowing from the toe to the sock-like tongue. Lace cords wrap the TPU frame, holding the entire shoe together, similar to the Nike ISPA Mindbody silhouette. The frame covers the circular TPU tooling made from scrapped Nike airbag materials, providing similar cushioning as Nike Air technology. Wavy traction patterns decorate the segmented outsole to complete this rather peculiar model.
